Planning your RV trip should be exciting, not confusing. This page answers the most common rental questions, explains insurance options, and highlights great local campgrounds near St. Louis so you can get the most out of your RV rental experience.
RV Rental FAQs
Quick answers to the most common RV rental questions.
What types of RVs can I rent?
We offer several types of RV rentals to fit different travel styles and group sizes, including:
Class A Motorhomes (Coach-style front end)
Class C Motorhomes (Van chassis-style front end)
Is a deposit required to reserve an RV rental?
Yes. All reservations require a $500 security deposit, secured with a credit card.
The deposit is held separately from the rental fees and is fully refundable at the end of the rental as long as the unit is returned in the same condition it left in, with no damage and no additional mileage charges.
What is your RV rental cancellation policy?
You may purchase Cancellation Protection for a one-time fee of $89 per rental.
Without cancellation protection, the following policy applies:
30 days prior: Full refund of deposit
15–30 days prior: $350 cancellation fee
No show or within 14 days: $500 cancellation fee
What is considered a weekly RV rental?
A weekly rental consists of 8 days and 7 nights.
Example:
Pick up Friday between 1:30 PM – 4:30 PM and return the following Friday by 10:00 AM.
Pick-ups are available Monday through Friday. We do not schedule pick-ups or drop-offs on Saturdays, Sundays, or holidays.
What are the minimum rental periods?
Minimum rental periods vary depending on the RV type and season.
Motorhomes
May 1 – September 30 (In Season): 7-day minimum
October 1 – April 30 (Off Season): 4-day minimum
Travel Trailers
Year-round: 4-day minimum
A 4-day rental is typically considered a weekend rental and follows this schedule:
Pick up Thursday afternoon and return Monday by 10:00 AM
Pick up Friday afternoon and return Tuesday by 10:00 AM
Pick up Monday afternoon and return Friday by 10:00 AM
Can I rent an RV for longer than one week?
Yes. We prorate the weekly rate based on the number of days you need.
Discounts may be available for longer rentals of 17 days or more.
When can I pick up and return my rental RV?
Pick-Up:
Monday – Friday between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM
(All pick-ups require a scheduled appointment.)
Return:
All rentals must be returned by 10:00 AM.
The pick-up and drop-off days are counted together as one rental day, not two.
How many miles are included with a rental?
Motorhomes:
150 miles are included per day.
Travel Trailers:
Mileage does not apply since they are towed by your own vehicle.
What if I drive more than the included mileage?
Additional mileage is charged at $0.45 per mile.
You may also purchase a Mileage Block:
$350 for 1,000 miles
(Must be purchased in advance.)
Do I need insurance to rent an RV?
Yes, insurance coverage is required for all rentals. If your auto insurance policy extends to rental RVs, you may provide a binder or rider from your insurance company listing the rental vehicle details and Byerly RV Rentals as an additional insured.
If your policy does not cover the rental vehicle, you may purchase a Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) through Byerly RV.
Motorhome Rental (31′ and Under)
$29 per day
$1,000 deductible per incident
$500 reservation deposit + $500 additional deposit = $1,000 deductible coverage
Motorhome Rental (32′ and Over)
$38 per day
$1,000 deductible per incident
$500 reservation deposit + $500 additional deposit = $1,000 deductible coverage
Travel Trailer Rental
Standard coverage included with a $500 deductible per incident
Optional upgraded coverage is available:
$12.95 per day with a $250 deductible
All drivers listed on the rental agreement must still provide a valid insurance card, and liability insurance will follow the driver’s personal auto policy.
Are there additional rental charges?
Additional charges may include:
Prep Fee: $149 (one-time fee on all rental contracts)
Sales Tax: Applied to rental rates and add-ons
Mileage Overages: If you exceed included mileage
Collision Damage Waiver: If required for motorhome rentals
Pet Fee: $50 (non-refundable)
As long as the RV is returned in the same condition it left in, no additional charges will apply.
What is included with my RV rental?
All rentals include several essential items and services.
Included with rentals:
Propane for motorhomes and travel trailers
Generator usage: 3 hours per day included
Additional usage: $3 per hour
Mileage: 150 miles per day for motorhomes
Additional mileage: $0.45 per mile
You may also purchase the Mileage Block ($350 for 1,000 miles).
What appliances come in the rental RVs?
Our motorhomes and travel trailers are equipped with common RV appliances, including:
Refrigerator
Freezer
2–3 burner stove (some models)
Oven (some models)
Microwave or convection oven
Air conditioning
Furnace
Hot water heater
What are the towing requirements for travel trailer rentals?
Your vehicle must meet the following requirements:
Hitch rated for 7,000 lbs or higher (varies by model)
Hitch rated for 4,500 lbs for single axle trailers
Electronic brake controller
If your vehicle does not have one, you can rent one for $60
7-way round plug with wired battery charge line
Can I tow a vehicle behind a rental motorhome?
No. Towing behind any rental motorhome is not allowed.
Can I leave my vehicle at Byerly RV while traveling?
No. Unfortunately, overnight parking is not available at our location while you are on your trip.

Cancellation Protection

Cancel anytime, up to 24 hrs. prior to your rental and receive full refund of the $500 reservation deposit. *(RECOMMENDED)
Generator Package

Unlimited Generator Usage. Otherwise, 3 hrs./day included and $3/hour after the included hours.
Roadside Assistance

We are dog friendly. Any damages will be deducted from the deposit or claimed on insurance.
Windshield Protection
